I’m a complicated guy.
Sometimes I think my hobby is “finding new hobbies”, but nonetheless I do have some constants.
Probably first real passion, music has been a part of my life for a long time. It began with playing saxophone in elementary school, and my love for music has been brewing ever since. I still play sax weekly at my church and with some friends, but I love listening too. David Sanborn, Stan Getz, Cannonball Adderley, and Leroi Moore are among my heroes. I’m not just a jazz snob either; Dave Matthews Band, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, you get the idea.
I remember when my family got our first PC, a Compaq Presario, for Christmas. I can still remember the sweet electronic purr of the machine as it dialed to CompuServe…. but I digress! I like to game it up, tinker with websites, produce videos, research stuff I don’t know much about on the internet, and everything else that goes along with being a geek.
One of my younger hobbies, at first I just needed something to keep me awake for my 8am economics class, but now I’m hooked. No, it’s not “pick up some morning joe from McDonalds” type of thing. It’s a whole bean, freshly ground, obsessive/compulsive brewed to perfection type of thing.
Movies/film, comics, and vintage fountain pens are among some of my more transient interests that tend to get pushed aside when things get busy. (the average college semester) But rest assured that some very random things will pop up in the blog.
